Who am I?

I'm Lumbini Sharma, a social scientist turned UX researcher. I love discovering truths by interacting with users which helps bring great ideas to the table. Want to know more about me and my journey? Scroll down. If you want to check out my works on UX, please check out the 'works' page.

Prior to pursuing UX Research, I have earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Indian History. One of the main reasons behind studying history was my passion for storytelling, and desire to empathize with human experience, over a different temporal and spatial context.

The findings of my past research were published in acclaimed academic journals and conferences, recognized globally for their excellence.  Afterwards, I have been exploring avenues to create greater impact and influence people’s lives by joining the industry as a UX researcher. In this way, I can create a synergy between my passion for storytelling as well as the opportunity of touching the lives of a vast number of users.

Of late, people spend more and more time in the digital world – a relevant statistics: millennials spend 87% of time staring at electronic devices; the opportunity to impact people’s lives by designing appropriate digital experience is immense. While doing a course in Digital Humanities, I got familiarized with some of the website designing techniques as well as the basics of HTML and CSS. Along with this groundwork, I had started my journey toward UX research.  I find UX research fulfilling as it allows me to empathise with users' emotions, behaviour patterns, and responses to specific situations, and tries to design products accordingly.

Also, I am fascinated by the individualistic nature of every user experience; and I find designing experience, taking into consideration every individual’s unique need and taste, quite challenging and highly engaging.

What I can bring to the table?

I bring novel perspective and heuristic analysis to any cross-functional team that I would have the privilege to be a part of. I have over eight years of research experience and over three years of experience as an interviewer which makes me a great fit for the industry of user experience design.

As far as understanding the relevant UX research process, I have completed Google's UX Design Professional Certificate in September, 2022-which includes  seven certifications like - Foundations of User Experience(UX) design, Empathize, Define and Ideate part, Build Wireframes and Low Fidelity Prototypes, Conduct UX research and Test Early Concepts, Create High Fidelity Designs and Prototype in Figma,  Responsive Web Design in Adobe XD, Design a User Experience for Social Good and Prepare for Jobs.
